The Widow and the Frog- Lukhrabi amasung Hangoi

Once upon a time there lived a very hardworking widow. The greenery and tidiness of her surrounding proved her character. There also lived a supernatural frog who could talk like humans. Both of them were lonely since no one lived with them so the frog suggested that he shall live with the widow as her son to which the widow agreed happily.
One day, the frog insisted his mother to go and ask for the princess hand, as he came to know that the princess was so beautiful. The mother didn’t agree at once as she thought that it was not a good idea to ask for marriage for a frog. But she had to give up as her son insisted again and again and went at once for her son’s marriage to the princess.
The mother had to face embarrassment and came back home as she was told by the King not to come again with such senseless proposal but she could take any amount of wealth she wishes to have from the treasury.
The mother, after reaching home, was insisted more by her son to ask for the same. The King this time was so angry that he ordered the widow to chase away beating her. The blood on her mother’s face seemed to be ‘kwa’(beetle nut) by her son to which he thought that it was a token of agreement to his marriage. But after learning the truth from his mother he swore to take revenge.
One day again the son requested his mother to go and ask the same proposal to which the mother agreed at last because of the love for her son. But this time instead of getting angry the King agreed to the proposal thinking that the to be bridegroom must not be an ordinary person who had been insisting for so long. He led down certain conditions. He ordered the son and mother to build a place with gardens and servants to serve his daughter. But if they fail to provide her the said things than both of them would be put to death. The mother was so frightened to hear this that she returned home depressed. After narrating all the stories the son consoled his mother to rest well related.
After the mother had fallen asleep, the frog took out gems, jewels with pearls and prayed to fulfil all the wishes of the King. As he opened his eyes, seeing all the jewellery, the King was so pleased for his daughter that the marriage took place with great pomp and show.
The princess, on their wedding night, had a dream where she was with a prince charming enjoying together in a garden. After waking up she was more amazed to find of only the skin of the frog, the same prince charming from her dream came out as he turns out to be the frog. And then they live happily forever.
